Maja reads the transactions of the bank account you pay rent from and identifies the recurring payment that is your rent. Because the data comes straight from your bank over PSD2 open banking, the payment dates and amounts cannot be edited by you or by anyone else. That is what makes a Maja profile stronger evidence than a self-written reference, a screenshot or a PDF statement.
Maja connects to more than 2,000 banks across nearly all European countries through a single integration, including the large retail banks and most smaller regional and cooperative banks. If your bank offers PSD2 account access — and by law almost every European bank must — it is very likely supported. You can search for your bank on the front page before creating an account.
The connection is read-only and authorised by you inside your own bank's login flow. Maja never sees or stores your online banking credentials, and it cannot initiate payments, change your details or move money. Stored data is encrypted with AES-256, and processing follows GDPR. Under PSD2 rules a bank consent expires after 90 days, so Maja reminds you by email in advance and renewing takes a few clicks.
No. Maja performs no credit inquiry and never creates a payment default marking. Using Maja has no effect on your credit record. It is evidence of what you have actually paid, which is often more useful to a rental owner than a credit score.
They see your first name and last initial, your reliability label, how many monthly payments were verified, how many arrived on time and an approximate rent range. They do not see your balance, your other transactions, your account number or your exact rent. Share links expire after 30 days.
Maja is free for renters. Rental owners view the first three months of a profile for free and pay only if they want extended history: 7.90 € for 6 months, 12.90 € for 12 months and 17.90 € for 24 months, per profile, with no subscription. In Finland, automated OmaVero rental income reporting costs 4.50 € per month per property.
Yes. You can disconnect your bank at any time and delete your account from settings, which removes your payment history and profile. Some records must be retained where Finnish accounting or tax law requires it; the privacy policy explains exactly what and for how long.
